Departments & Services
The Town of Hot Springs provides a range of services that support daily life for residents and visitors. These services are delivered through town departments, volunteer organizations, county agencies, and state or federal partners. Working together, they help keep the community safe, connected, and functioning effectively.

Town Hall
The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may change due to holidays, inclement weather, or scheduled closures. For assistance, please call 828-622-7591.

Police
David Shelton serves as the Chief of Police for the Town of Hot Springs.

Volunteer Fire Department
Joshua Norton serves as Fire Chief of the Hot Springs Volunteer Fire Department.

Recreation
The Welcome Center is staffed by the Hot Springs Tourism Association (HSTA) and serves as the primary place to learn about attractions, events, and outdoor activities in the area. The center is open daily at 10:00 a.m.

Public Works
Public Works is responsible for maintaining essential town services, including water and sewer systems, trash collection, and general maintenance of town facilities and infrastructure.

Library
While renovations following Hurricane Helene are underway, the Hot Springs Public Library is temporarily located at Chestnut Hall, 65 South Spring Street.

Schools
Students in Hot Springs attend Hot Springs Elementary School within town limits. Older students continue their education at Madison Middle School and Madison High School.

Housing Authority
The Hot Springs Housing Authority manages French Broad Circle and other housing assistance locations within the town.
