The Hot Springs Police Department, led by the Chief of Police, provides the following services within town limits:
- Community Patrol: Ensuring the safety of residential areas and the downtown business district.
- Traffic Enforcement: Monitoring speed and safety on Bridge Street and US-25/70.

📋 Safety Resources for Residents
Animal Control: Domestic animal complaints within the town should be directed to the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line; county-wide issues are handled by Madison County Animal Control via the Sheriff’s Office.
Appalachian Trail Safety: If you are a hiker or a resident reporting an incident on the AT, please call 911 for immediate response. The HSPD works closely with the US Forest Service on trail-related safety.
Reporting Crime Tips: You can report suspicious activity anonymously by calling the Madison County Dispatch non-emergency line.
Tip for Residents: In our rural mountain area, cell service can sometimes be spotty. If you are unable to reach 911 via a cell phone, try a landline or use a Wi-Fi-enabled calling service if available.
